AYR Aviation now at Biggin Hill Airport

AYR Aviation has moved to the Biggin Hill Airport. Our offices are now located inside a state-of-the-art FBO, that has its own award-winning VIP terminal.


AYR Aviation recovers helicopter

AYR Aviation had been contracted by Air Charter Services (ACS) to recover a Sikorsky Sea King helicopter in Norway. With only a couple of days of lead time, we deployed a Mi-26 helicopter (the largest helicopter in the world) to Norway. Our very experienced crew completed the complicated sling-load operation without any problem, and in the shortest possible time.


Additional helicopters for South Sudan

AYR Aviation has been awarded a 1-year extension by PAE Government Services, Inc. in the Republic of South Sudan to continue to provide aviation support to the UPDF peace-keeping mission. As part of the new agreement, AYR Aviation has deployed two additional Mi-8 helicopters in support of this crucial mission.


Air Taurus flying for WFP in South Sudan

Currently based in Rumbek, two Mi-8T helicopters are transporting UN staff and other humanitarian workers throughout Lakes State as part of the UN Humanitarian Air Service network.


Firefighting in Turkey this summer

AYR Aviation will be deploying three Mi-8 MTV helicopters to Turkey, where we will build on previous years' firefighting experience gained in Greece.

Aircraft will be positioned in Turkey from June and will remain there until the autumn.


AYR Aviation is awarded PAE contract for another year

AYR Aviation has once again won the tender to provide two Mi-8 helicopters to PAE Inc. in support of a UPDF peacekeeping mission in Nzara, South Sudan.

Working with minimal infrastructure our crew are employed in the transportation of personnel, materiel and food throughout the South Sudan - DRC border region.


Air Taurus helicopters support UN World Food Programme in South Sudan

AYR Aviation is proud to announce that our wholly-owned subsidiary, Air Taurus, has been selected to provide aviation support to UN WFP in South Sudan.

Air Taurus's two Mi-8 T helicopters, which are based at Rumbek and Wau, are transporting passengers and cargo between villages in the region under a year-long contract. The majority of passengers are UN and NGO humanitarian workers.


Greece firefighting mission update

AYR Aviation now has a total of three Mi-8 MTV helicopters fighting fires in Greece.

Our three aircraft and their crews are stationed at different bases on the Greek mainland and islands and have been busy extinguishing forest fires.


UR-AID joins Air Taurus fleet

AYR Aviation is pleased to announce the addition of Mi-8 T helicopter, registration mark UR-AID, to the AOC of its subsidiary company Air Taurus.

Air Taurus, AYR Aviation's wholly-owned AOC-holding subsidiary, has recently acquired the Mi-8 T helicopter, which is currently based in Entebbe, Uganda, along with another of our Mi-8 Ts, UR-AYR. As the aircraft's registration mark suggests, it will be utilised in support of humanitarian relief work in the region.


Aerial firefighting in Greece

We are pleased to be returning to Greece this summer, where we will once again be supporting aerial firefighting efforts. Our Mi-8 MTV helicopter is based in Crete, where it is ready to be deployed in the event of wildfires breaking out during the hot summer months.


South Sudan peacekeeping support contract renewed

AYR Aviation is pleased to announce that its contract to provide aviation support to peacekeepers in Nzara and surrounding areas has been renewed for the period June to August 2011.

AYR Aviation's two Mi-8 T helicopters have been providing support to UPDF peacekeepers since October 2010.


AYR Aviation flying in Pakistan

We are proud to be providing five Mi-8 helicopters for the UN World Food Programme's flood relief mission in Pakistan.

Six AYR Aviation helicopters are currently in Pakistan to assist with the transportation of evaluation teams and essential food. Air transportation is the only efficient means of delivering food in many areas of the heavily flooded Sindh province.


Fighting fire in Greece

Aircraft will be equipped with a bambi-bucket and will be stationed at various sites within Greece.

Opening of new Swiss company, AYR Transport AG

We are pleased to announce the opening of AYR Transport AG. The company's new offices are located in a 16th century building in the old town centre of Lucerne, which lies at the heart of Switzerland.

Having offices in Switzerland will facilitate cooperation with the many humanitarian aid organisations which are based there, as well as with the United Nations and agencies of the Swiss government.

Another year in Nepal for AYR Aviation Ltd

We are proud to announce that our contract to provide aviation support to the UN World Food Programme in Nepal has been extended by a further year.

AYR Aviation's two Mi-8 MTV helicopters have been transporting food supplies - largely rice - to villagers in the mountainous Surkhet region of Nepal. We are also flying doctors to remote villages so that they can provide villagers with valuable medical treatment and advice. We look forward to continuing to provide a reliable service in challenging conditions until December 2010.


AYR Aviation carrying provisions for troops in Afghanistan

Four AYR Aviation Mi-8 MTV helicopters are currently transporting food supplies in support of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan.

Operating out of Kabul, our aircraft are flying cargo to military airfields and forward operating bases in the provinces.

Flying for the UN World Food Programme in Nepal

AYR Aviation Ltd is currently taking part in the World Food Programme's disaster relief operation following catastrophic flooding in the Surkhet region of Nepal.

Two MI-8 MTV helicopters and ten crew have been deployed to assist in providing food aid to an estimated 70,000 people affected by the floods. Flood waters are receding but as of mid-September water levels were still as high as two and a half metres in some areas.

AYR Aviation Ltd is currently transporting an average of six tonnes of food per day to the displaced and cut-off people of the area. The MI-8 MTV has been chosen for the operation in this difficult mountainous region as it can reach higher altitudes carrying heavy loads.
